When We Are Disillusioned With God
A few thoughts for those times when we are tempted to become disillusioned with God for failing to protect us from harm.
God would never purposely allow harm to come upon us … would He!? … Certainly, he would never yield to Satan’s hellish intentions to harm us!
Satan speaking to God about Job: “… put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face.”
God actually granted Satan’s request … using His own hand! …
But Jesus came to set things straight! ,,, Surely we can count on Jesus to send Satan packing! … … right?
“Simon, Simon, behold Satan has demanded permission to sift you as wheat; but I have prayed that your faith may not fail.” Jesus speaking to Peter – Luke 22:31-32
Jesus allowed Satan from to sift Peter like wheat (ie: He allowed him to rip his life apart) … What’s going on here!?
Maybe God’s purposes are higher than we understand … Maybe our faith is more precious to Him than gold ,,, Maybe God knows how to sum all things up well after all.
““For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
“when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8
“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:” 1 Peter 5:6-7
“We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.” James 5:11
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10
