Happy Birthday Bryson
Happy birthday Bryson. Thank you for being a Man that I can be proud of as your Dad, I have always been proud of you.
Your journey has been harder than that of anyone I have observed through the years. Fierce odds were stacked against you from the beginning. You’ve surpassed milestones no one thought you could ever achieve. You have consistently proven your critics wrong. You have proven that there is no such thing as “impossible” in terms of accomplishing the purposes for which God has placed each one of us in this world.
Most people will never be called upon to face the hardships, limitations and challenges you have faced for three decades now, which you still face daily. You are a greater champion than all the sports heroes you look up to. Most of them would wilt if they were called upon to face the Giants you have faced. You have have the heart of a Lion.
You love to hand out the book I’ve written about your life to everyone you meet. You have every right to be proud of your story. I will share it here for the benefit of those who are now facing “impossibilities” of their own, or who wish to share it with someone who is struggling. When all the king’s horses and all his men don’t have the slightest prayer of putting our broken lives and dreams together again, there is indeed a King who can. His name is Jesus.
Bryson, there will come a day for you, and for every person trusting in Jesus, when all the sorrows and difficulties we’ve been called upon to face in this world will pale in comparison to what will be revealed. I believe there will be an extra measure of grace and power bestowed upon you then. I will still be proud of you, and will be thanking the Lord for the privilege He has given me to be your Dad here on earth, even as we worship King Jesus together in Heaven.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18
“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.” Philippians 3:20-21
