During the week of July 1st, Bryson will begin physical therapy on his left wrist, to recover from the two torn tendons he suffered in a fall due to his Cerebral Palsy. A week does not go by without a stark reminder that his life will always be hard in this world. Even so, I am reminded of the awesome privilege the Lord has given me to care for this young man as I carry out the the ministry here.
I am also grateful to announce that due to the generosity of our wonderful donors, most of the cost of the above surgeries has now been paid. God is so good, and so are all of you who have been so generous and who have prayed behind us.
Yes, I have ongoing trials, and so do you, don’t you? That is why All the King’s Horses Ministry exists. Through our counseling ministry I counsel many people who are extremely “down on their luck” (ie: no ability to pay). They bring tales of such devastation. It is a bit intimidating. Honestly, I don’t even have answers to many of my own ongoing problems, no less to theirs. But we know, don’t we dear reader of this email, that we can have utter confidence in sharing to good news of hope from God’s Word. Indeed, every human problem has its answer in the Person of Jesus Christ. This King rules every inch of this Universe. He has a plan for each person, irrespective of their “impossibilities.” I am utterly confident that if those who come will surrender to Him and follow Him, that He will lead them forward from their wilderness, step by step, defining victory as Heaven defines it, which is often very different from our earthly perspective. He gives purpose and hope to every person who seeks Him.
As waves of difficulty continue to come to us unceasingly in this battleground world, Isn’t it good to know that our God is a God of deliverances? No, that is not a typo. In Psalm 68 David made “deliverance” plural:
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. God is to us a God of deliverances; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death.” Psalm 68:19-20
The truth is, we all need God to deliver us again and again and again, all throughout life. In the New Testament, Paul repeats three times that God will deliver us:
“For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us” 2 Corinthians 1:8-10
Please pray for me as I continue to speak of our hope for deliverance in Christ alone in churches, and at a new venue the Lord has opened for me to regularly bring the hope of the Gospel to hurting seniors at the Preakness Healthcare Center.
