PROCEED BY WHAT YOU KNOW

PROCEED BY WHAT YOU KNOW

We all face a future with many unknowns. Some of us face a future we could only chategorize as terrifying. Look up the biography of any Biblical character, and you will realize their lives, their “impossibilities,” were really no different than ours.

How does God expect us to move forward amidst so much uncertainty and fear? Look to God’s Word, the Bible, and to Jesus, the Author of God’s Word, and PROCEED BY WHAT YOU KNOW:

WE KNOW GOD’S WORD WAS WRITTEN TO PROVIDE HOPE:

“For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus” Romans 15:4-5

WE KNOW GOD HAS HIS EYE ON US, AND HAS PROMISED TO GUIDE US:
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will counsel you with My eye upon you. ” Psalm 32:8

WE KNOW GOD LOVES US AND WE ARE PRECIOUS IN HIS SIGHT:

“But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
“For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior …
“Since you are precious in My sight,
Since you are honored and I love you, ” Isaiah 43:1-4

WE KNOW THAT GOD IS FOR US, AND THAT NOTHING WILL EVER SEPARATE US FROM HIS LOVE:

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written,
“For Your sake we are being put to death all day long;
We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:31-39

WE KNOW THAT HE IS VERY NEAR TO US, EVEN WHEN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE RADICALLY, CAUSING US TO BECOME CRUSHED IN SPIRIT:

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; ” Psalm 43:1-2

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:8

WE KNOW THERE IS REALLY NOTHING TO FEAR, BECAUSE HE IS WITH US ALWAYS, AND ONE DAY WILL BRING US SAFELY HOME:

‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

“for Jesus Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you” Hebrews 13:5

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.” Philippians 3:20-21

WE KNOW THAT, ALTHOUGH IT LOOKS AND FEELS AS IF THERE IS ONLY CALAMITY AHEAD, GOD STILL HAS A PLAN FOR OUR WELFARE, A PLAN FRAUGHT WITH HOPE:

“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ” Jeremiah 29:11

WHEN MAN MAKES A PROMISE, THE OUTCOME IS QUESTIONABLE. WHEN GOD MAKES A PROMISE, THE FULFILLMENT OF THAT PROMISE IS A CERTAINTLY.
LOOK TO GOD AND HIS WORD TO LIGHT YOUR PATH, AND PROCEED BY WHAT YOU KNOW.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

“For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.” Psalm 36:9
